Here’s the full credits for Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’

Kendrick Lamar has released his long-awaited new album ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ – you can read the record’s full credits below.

The follow-up to the Compton rapper’s 2017 album ‘DAMN.’ has been released today (May 13) after Lamar shared the standalone track ‘The Heart Part 5’ earlier this week.

Split into two discs, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ contains 18 songs and runs for a total of one hour, 13 minutes.

Featured guests on the album include Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Portishead‘s Beth Gibbons, Summer Walker and Baby Keem, while the likes of Thundercat, Pharrell, The Alchemist and Sampha also worked on the LP.

As Pitchfork notes, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ includes a writing credit for Florence Welch on the song ‘We Cry Together’ for its use of a Florence + The Machine sample. The track also features Lamar’s partner Whitney Alford.

Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Is Mid/Trash (Review/Reaction/Rant), The Heart Part 5 & N95

In this review, I share my thoughts on the new Kendrick Lamar album which in my opinion is somewhere between bad & mid, considering the 5-year-long wait & my overall expectations for one of the best rappers of all time. I don't think the album comes close to To Pimp A Butterfly, Good Kid M.A.A.d. City, Damn & Secion 80. Kendrick Lamar fell off. Released as a double album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is Kendrick Lamar’s fifth and final studio album with Top Dawg Entertainment. TDE founder and CEO Anthony Tiffith teased fans during a May 2020 Instagram Live, saying “Stay patient” and “King Kendrick will return soon.”

Tracklist:
1. United in Grief
2. N95
3. Worldwide Steppers
4. D. Hard
5. Father Time
6. Rich (Interlude)
7. Rich Spirit
8. We Cry Together
9. Purple Hearts
10. Count Me Out
11. Crown
12. Silent Hill
13. Savior (Interlude)
14 Savior
15. Auntie Diaries
16. Mr. Morale
17. Mother I Sober
18. Mirror

On August 20, 2021, Kendrick teased his return with a new website—oklama.com—explaining that the upcoming project would be his last release with TDE:

As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.

About a week later, on August 27, 2021, his cousin Baby Keem released “family ties,” featuring a guest verse by Kendrick with multiple allusions to the highly-anticipated record.

On April 18, 2022, Kendrick shared a statement revealing the project’s release date and title through his website and social media. A week before the release date, an image of Kendrick holding two CDs was shared via oklama.com, driving speculation that Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers would be a double album, which turned out to be accurate.

On May 8, 2022, Kendrick surprise-dropped “The Heart Part 5” with an accompanying music video that saw his face morphing into stars like Kanye West and Will Smith. Three days later, Kendrick took to social media to reveal the album’s cover art, shot by Renell Medrano. He didn’t unveil the album’s tracklist until its release, leaving fans hyped up until the final moments before the drop.
